Core NAP, the most flexible data center solutions provider in Central Texas, today announced it will participate in a panel at the DatacenterDynamics Dallas 2009 Conference & Expo to discuss new trends in data center design. The panel, “The Data Center Efficiency Schism… New Realities in Design,” will focus on a variety of topics, including common sense green design, the realities of do-it-yourself data centers and modular strengths and weaknesses.
DatacenterDynamics Conference & Expo is the area’s largest gathering of professionals involved in the design, build and operational management of 24/7 mission critical IT facilities. It is an unrivalled education and networking opportunity for the industry, where the regular audience is characterized by senior representatives of the of the financial, medical, media, service provider, outsourcing/managed services, petrochemical and other Fortune 500 companies operating throughout the DFW MetroPlex, Texas and the Sunbelt.
Brian Achten, Director of Data Center Operations for Core NAP, will discuss design best practices based on his experience building Core NAP’s data center from the ground up and managing operations in a fluid business environment where rigidity can be stifling for companies with constantly evolving requirements.
The panelists will also address the following topics:
• The Big Green Wash - Being green doesn’t require hardware, just common sense
• The New Green is Blue: water conservation and more
• No two data centers are the same - The life and death of DIY data centers
• Does Modular fit into my Data center Strategy? What are the strengths and weaknesses?
“Smaller data center providers are emerging that can match service offerings, availability and connectivity of their larger counterparts, but also provide the flexibility that is needed to fit changing business realities,” said Achten. “At Core NAP, we are seeing a trend toward flexible contract terms, varied power configurations, and custom technology deployments that are transforming data center providers from commodities into strategic business partners.”
